Aviation Capital Group Orders 20 Airbus A320s

Leasing Group Builds On 70-Plus Airbus Fleet

United States based lessor Aviation Capital Group (ACG) placed a firm order this week for 20 Airbus A320 Family aircraft. The order is for four A319s, 14 A320s and two A321s.

ACG, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Pacific LifeCorp, already has more than 70 A320 Family aircraft in its portfolio and this latest addition to their fleet represents the first direct transaction between ACG and Airbus.

"The Airbus A320 Family is a popular, highly fuel efficient aircraft and very much in demand," said R. Stephen Hannahs, ACG Group Managing Director and CEO. "Our decision to buy more of the A320 range fits in with our long term strategy of providing modern, efficient and productive aircraft. Airbus' A320 Family fit all these criteria in addition to offering greater cabin space for added passenger comfort."

"We are delighted that Aviation Capital Group has placed this order with Airbus. In the A320, they have bought the most successful single aisle aircraft family in the world with over 5,000 sales and 3000 deliveries to date. We look forward to a long-term partnership with ACG," said John Leahy, Airbus Chief Operating Officer, Customers.

As Aero-News reported Tuesday, ACG also ordered 20 Boeing aircraft -- a mix of 737s and 787s.
