Converts MoU To Bring Total Order To 60 Aircraft
Airbus announced that IndiGo, India’s largest airline, finalized a commitment for 30 additional A350-900 aircraft by converting a June 2025 Memorandum of Understanding to a firm order. The addition brings IndiGo’s total A350 order to 60 aircraft, and signals a strategic move as the airline preps to enter the international long-haul market.
The purchase of the long-range A350 supports the airline’s ambition to become a larger player in the global air travel market. India is the world’s fastest growing aviation market and is also seeing a wave of international travel as the country’s economy grows and household incomes rise along with it.
Pieter Elbers, CEO of IndiGo explained, “Today is a special day for IndiGo as we solidify our commitment to expanding our international footprint and offering unparalleled connectivity to our customers. The conversion of this MoU into a firm order for 30 additional A350-900s is a testament to our confidence in the future of Indian aviation and our strategic partnership with Airbus, further reinforced by the strong start of our long-haul operations.
