Cutter Aviation: Operating At Full Throttle At Almost 90 Years Young

Opens New FBO Facility In Arizona, Expands Other Operations

Cutter Aviation may be operating in its golden years as it approaches its 90th anniversary, but shows absolutely no signs of slowing down with a brand new FBO facility in Arizona, a hangar and office complex in Texas and a new executive terminal and fuel farm in the works in Colorado.

Phoenix Deer Valley Airport (KDVT) is consistently is ranked as one of the busiest general aviation airports in the U.S. Late in 2015, Cutter announced it had finalized the purchase of Atlantic’s FBO making Cutter the only FBO at the airport. The full-service facility offers Phillips 66 branded fuel, line/guest services, aircraft service and avionics, aircraft sales, and air charter/management. Future plans at Phoenix Deer Valley include the construction of new hangars as well as a modern FBO facility that will provide the ultimate in comfort and convenience for general and business aviation travelers.

"The purchase of the facticity not only strengthens Cutter’s presence in Phoenix, but also reinforces our operations as one of the most recognized and trusted general aviation brands within the Southwest," said Steve Prieser, Cutter Aviation’s Vice President and CFO.

In May, Cutter completed a deal at Addison Airport (KADS) to purchase a 60,650 square foot hangar and office complex on 3.5 acres. The complex consists of two 15,000 square foot hangars with 7,400 square feet of attached office space and one 18,750 square foot hangar with 4,500 square feet of attached office space. The airport is home to more than 700 based aircraft with 90,000-plus annual operations.

"Cutter’s presence at Addison Airport puts us on the map in the heart of the North Dallas business district," said Mike Livezey, Cutter’s Director Special Projects. "This acquisition is another example of Cutter’s pledge to provide exceptional service to the aviation community."

Cutter Aviation has operated its full-service FBO at Colorado Springs Airport (KCOS) for the past 10 years, but just broke out golden shovels for a formal ground-breaking ceremony at the airport where they are building an executive terminal and a fuel farm that will hold 62,000 gallons of Phillips 66 Aviation fuel.

In addition to constructing the new executive terminal, Cutter also acquired a 23,100-square-foot hangar to provide overnight storage space for larger corporate aircraft during inclement weather and adjacent ramp space to park other aircraft. Even more hangar space is being built directly adjacent to the executive terminal.
