No Room In The Hangar

Arkansas Airport Running Out Of Places To Park Planes

Sure, you can land at Adams Field in Little Rock, AR. But good luck finding a place to park.

That word comes from leaders of the aviation business community who told the Associated Press there's no general aviation hangar space available anywhere in central Arkansas. Walter Smiley, head of the Little Rock Business Aviation Association, said his group has been warning government officials for more than two years that space was running out. Now, he says, it has.

The issue is centered on hangar space. The situation is so bad that LRBAA member Bob East says no hangars are available in Little Rock for lease or purchase at any price. At this point, there's no indication from the Little Rock Municipal Airport Commission what solution -- if any -- is forthcoming.
