Impaired Flight Attendant May Have Caused Delta Flight Cancellation

Investigation Is Underway, Airline Is Not Commenting

A Pinnacle Airlines flight operating under a codeshare with Delta was cancelled Monday, and the reason may be that the sole flight attendant on the airplane was intoxicated.

The flight was scheduled to leave Grand Forks, ND for Minneapolis on Sunday, but was abruptly cancelled. The Twin Cities Pioneer Press reports that Pinnacle has taken the flight attendant, who was not identified, off the job. The FAA is also participating in the investigation.

The pilot and co-pilot are not part of the investigation. Pinnacle spokesman Joe Williams said that the 30 passengers booked on the flight were accommodated on later flights.

Pinnacle policy requires that no member of a flight crew consume alcohol within 12 hours of a flight.
