Textron Aviation Expands Parts Footprint

New Facility Adds Even More Stocking Space for 150,000 Part Numbers

Another 180,000 square feet of storage space has opened up in Textron's hands after the grand opening of the company's biggest distribution facility in Wichita, Kansas.

The company now has even deeper pockets to draw on when keeping its Beechcraft, Cessna, and Hawker lines going around the world, helping to sustain their mobile service unites and 24/7 1Call AOG support line. It's a daunting task to keep up with the better part of a century's worth of aircraft parts, particularly with so many legacy brands in the company's catalog.

Today, Textron has logged more than 150,000 discrete part numbers, which takes more than 600 employees on hand just to keep everything separate. Changes to inventory systems and procedures should help to make the purchase and turn-in processes even easier than before, too, with dedicated lanes for customers passing through with a purpose.

“Adding 180,000 square feet to our headquarter facility provides expedited support to our customers around the globe and continues our investment in parts inventory,” said Brad White, senior vice president, Global Parts and Distribution. “The expansion of our parts distribution operations is a testament to Textron Aviation’s commitment to designing and delivering the best aviation experience for customers.”

The center brings their total footprint to 7 facilities among the Textron parts distribution network, with 17 stockrooms helping disseminate fresh gear as quickly as possible to minimize groundings around the world.
