Aura Aero Receives Part 21 Subpart G Approval

Integral R Taildragger Production to Begin

Aura Aero has received Part 21 Subpart G approval for the entirety of its industrial facilities, a necessary step to officially begin serial production of the Integral aircraft family.

The French civil aviation authority took 18 months to audit the Toulouse-Francazal and Bernay fabrication sites as well as the primary subcontractors for the company before approval. The certification assures that the fabrication of aircraft parts complies with their design, and will allow for serial production and assembly of their Integral R plane, with the first units to be delivered to local French flying clubs. The R model will be the initial specification, including a two-seat, traditional aircraft engine, and taildragger landing gear. Once the line achieves a given level of preparedness, Aura plans to introduce the tricycle-geared S model and electric E models. Eventually, the facilities will begin building the famed ERA, the regional 19-passenger electric commuter plane.

In a release announcing their accomplishment, co-founder Jérémy Caussade congratulated those involved in the process. "In the name of the Aura Aero teams, I am very happy to obtain the PART 21 Subpart G approval for our industrial facilities. This approval marks a new milestone in the history of our company and enables us to officially launch serial production of Integral R, and soon of INTEGRAL E and ERA, taking a step forward towards decarbonated aviation," said the company president.

The other half of the founding duo, Fabien Raison, said "This approval validates all of our installation facilities and production processes, which is very important for us as a new aircraft manufacturer, since we can now begin serial production and deliver our first customers. Part 21 Subpart G is hard to obtain, so this is a true recognition of our innovative production system and comforts us as a leading industrial company."
