Small Airplane Revitalization Act Clears The House

Pompeo Issues Statement on House Passage

In one of the few GA-positive stories to come out of Washington, DC, the House of Representatives passed the Small Airplane Revitalization Act, a bill sponsored by Congressman Mike Pompeo, R-Kansas, which would revitalize America's general aviation industry by updating outdated certification regulations.

"The aviation manufacturing cluster in Wichita is a world leader, and should never be taken for granted.  Our manufacturers, suppliers, workers, and training and research institutions are a crown jewel-not just for Wichita-but the entire country. By focusing on common-sense regulatory reform, we can strengthen general aviation while not taking a dime from the American taxpayer. That's a win-win." Pompeo said. "These new streamlined regulations will decrease costs, increase safety and improve global competitiveness."
Pompeo, a longtime champion of general aviation, represents the 4th District, which includes Wichita, known as the "Air Capital of the World." The bill enjoys broad, bipartisan support.

Pompeo continued: "I would like to extend my thanks to Senators Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) and Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) for their continued efforts to move this bill in the Senate. I urge the Senate to pass this common-sense legislation."
