ERAU Begins Relationship With South Australian University

Will Expand Undergraduate, Graduate Aviation Programs In The Region

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University has opened the door to new opportunities in Australia under a joint agreement finalized last month.

The agreement lays the foundation for collaboration between Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Asia and the University of South Australia to expand undergraduate and graduate aviation degree opportunities, along with academic and professional development for South Australia’s faculty and staff.

“Building relationships to meet the need for advanced training and education globally was the groundwork for this collaboration between Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Asia and the University of South Australia,” said Embry-Riddle’s Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Dr. John D. Watret. “But there’s another important goal – establishing Embry-Riddle in an area of tremendous aviation and aerospace growth and providing opportunities for the entire university.”

The University of South Australia is the latest international institution to join forces with Embry-Riddle, which has an established presence in Europe, Asia and the Middle East through the Worldwide Campus. A world leader in aviation and aerospace education, Embry-Riddle’s curriculum can prepare students for careers in growing industries areas such as aviation, maintenance engineering and unmanned systems.

“As the largest aeronautical university in the world, Embry-Riddle’s aviation expertise is considerable,” said University of South Australia Vice Chancellor David Lloyd. “This agreement will build opportunities for our students to benefit from that expertise and to develop key skills across wide areas of the aviation industry at a critical time of industry growth in the Asia-Pacific region.”

Through its partners, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Asia has offered undergraduate and graduate degrees in Singapore since 2011. Aviation continues to be a booming industry in the Asia Pacific, and forecasts predict more than 13,000 commercial airplanes will be produced over the next 20 years.
