Build Your S-7S in Half the Time, With Approved Quick-Build Option

ANN Sponsor RANS wanted us to know that on January 7, 2003, at their Hays (KS) factory, FAA representatives from the Wichita FSDO office granted the S-7S kit and manual approval for inclusion as a "51% experimental amateur built aircraft." This distinction was granted to both the standard kit and quick-build options.

The standard kit requires an estimated 500 to 1000 hours to complete. The quick-build kit reduces the time in half. (Quick-build S-7S kits include pre-built and covered wings, tail group and fuselage.)

The S-7S is a derivative design of the original S-7, which was first placed into production in 1985. It's a big improvement on an established design, featuring significant refinements in aerodynamics, interior, panel, and many other areas.

Distinguishing features over the older kit include fiberglass wing tips, larger flaps, radiator inside cowling, and a fiberglass cowl boot.

Powered by the 912S the S-7S performs well as a STOL plane, with a solid 100MPH plus cruise and high rates of climb. The S-7S airframe kit sells for $21,500.00.
