Montaer Releases 4-Spot MC-04

Family-Sized Aircraft Arrives from Brazilian LSA Manufacturer

Montaer Aeronaves unveiled a follow-up to its 2-seat MC-01 Aircraft, with a 4-seater sporting IFR-ready avionics and a parachute.

The all-metal, high-wing, tricycle geared MC-04 sports a Rotax 916 iS with all 160 turbocharged ponies under the hood, granting it a 132-knot cruise for 800 nautical miles. A constant-speed prop helps to put the finishing touch on a nice little package from a firm ordinarily associated with 2-seater LSA’s. Climb rate is accordingly pretty good at 1,300 feet per minute up to a service ceiling of 14,500 feet. It’s a promising recipe. The MC-04’s useful load offers more than 1,200 lbs of carrying capacity.

Befitting its 'family hauler' aspirations, safety gets a good deal of the brochure's press, talking about the metallic fuselage, welded safety cell, and ballistic parachute. The MC-04 accordingly offers all the important flight deck upgrades needed to be competitive in the bracket, with G3X touchscreen panels and a G5 for backup. GMC 507 autopilot rounds out the "Premium" trim level, with an additional 'IFR Version' adding a GTN 750Xi.
