Aero-TV: Phil Boyer At Oshkosh 2010 -- Phil Loves His Aero-Tech

Phil is One Of The All-Time Aero-Gadget Hounds...

One of the good things about retirement is that it gives you time to catch up on all those things that escaped one's attention while busy with 'real' life... and in the case of retired AOPA Boss, Phil Boyer, that means that there is now plenty of time to indulge in his fascination with aero-gadgets.

To those of us who watched aviation work its way through several decades of various trials and tribulations, Phil Boyer proved himself to be the real deal... a solid leader with some serious smarts and a true passion for the world of aviation. When he decided to retire after nearly two decades of challenging leadership, we all felt poorer for the loss of his participation but could not deny the that the guy deserved to retire and enjoy his life the way that he wanted... free of the pressures that he lived 24/7 for all those years.

Still; when he wants to speak up, even after nearly two years absence from his leadership of the AOPA (which hasn't been the same since and seems to be drifting inexorably 'off-mission'), we're more than willing to drop everything and listen... and when he wants to provide thoughtful advice for a guy who was (at that time) about to take on what has to be one of the most challenging leadership transitions in the sport and general aviation business, we are ALL ears.

So... join Aero-TV for one of a series of intriguing interviews from the grounds of Oshkosh 2010 as Phil checks out the latest in aero-gadgets (Phil being one of the all time great gadget geeks).

Do check out other parts of this series in which Phil provides advice to the newly named EAA President, Rod Hightower... some insight into GA's challenges for the future, and chats about how he's enjoying his life post-retirement. We hope you enjoy these chats as much as we did...
