July Purchase Of 30 Aircraft By Macquarie AirFinance Confirmed

Boeing has confirmed details of an order placed in July 2025 for 30 of its 737 MAX aircraft by a previously unidentified customer. The order was placed by the Dublin, Ireland-based aircraft lessor Macquarie AirFinance, who increased its commitment to 70 of the 737 MAX aircraft.

This order follows the first direct purchase by Macquarie from Boeing in 2024. The lessor owns a stable of over 300 aircraft with jets on lease to 84 airlines across 48 countries.

Macquarie’s customers include United Airlines, Air Canada, British  Airways, Air France, Air India, and Virgin Australia.

Boeing says that lessor orders now account for nearly one-fourth of the total order book for the 737 MAX family of aircraft. The company also says its Commercial Market Outlook for 2025 forecasts a demand of more than 33,000 new single-aisle airliners over the next 20 years to replace older models and to meet the anticipated growth in worldwide air travel.
