Corruption Complaints Surface In Philippine Helicopter Deal

Three Philippine Senators File Charges Against Former President's Husband

The husband of former Philippine President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo has been accused of corruption in a deal in which he allegedly sold two helicopters to the government while she was in power.

Three Philippine senators have brought the complaint against Jose Miguel Arroyo. They say he actually owned the two aircraft which were sold to the national police as new helicopters. The Washington Post reports he has denied either owning the helos or selling them to the agency.

The former President and her husband have been accused of other corruption while she was in office. Both have said they did nothing wrong while in power.
