Duncan Creates Patriotic Livery On Pilatus PC-12

Provo MRO Transforms Owners’ Vision Into Distinctive, Elegant, And Personal Project

The Provo, Utah, full-service MRO facility of Duncan Aviation recently turned out a striking and distinctive paint scheme on a Pilatus PC-12 that helped the owners transform the aircraft into an sleek, personal and patriotic display for its owners.

The owners, a husband and wife, were leaning at first toward a modern, geometric paint scheme that evolved into a deeply personal contemporary design in black, taupe, and gold. But then, around the Fourth of July, they were inspired to go back to Molly Pfeiffer, Duncan’s Senior Lead Designer, with a new idea: an American flag theme, but deconstructed into shapes that followed the aircraft’s lines and contours so that it flowed around the fuselage.

Pfeiffer said, “The owners envisioned something modern and distinctive, yet deeply meaningful. We collaborated closely to refine the flag design so it complemented the aircraft’s contours while allowing the stars to wrap gracefully around the nose. They were incredibly engaged in the process, sending feedback and tweaks that made the design truly their own.”

The result is a PC-12 with a unique, elegant, patriotic design.

Metallic taupe and gold set off the deep black, and a hint of mint-blue around the stars and logo add warmth and individuality. The tail displays a large white star circled by the words Family and Freedom, reinforcing the personal meaning behind the project.

Pfeiffer continued, “The owners don’t just use the aircraft for business. It’ll carry their family on countless journeys, and they wanted it to reflect the principles they hold dear. I love that the design stands out, but even more so that it represents the heart of who they are.”

“The entire Duncan Aviation Provo Paint Team really enjoyed working with this family. They arrived with a vision, and through the process, it evolved into a piece that blends artistry with meaning. The finished aircraft is truly one of a kind.”

The collaborative process made the final product especially rewarding. The owner noted that the entire Duncan team was incredible to work with, quick to respond and always willing to assist.

The owner said, “The Design team put ideas on paper, and the Paint team brought them to life. Every step of the way the process was handled efficiently with the aircraft delivered on time. Duncan Aviation has both top-notch facilities and people. It was a pleasure to work with them every step of the way.”
