3rd Annual DPE Symposium To Be Held As Scheduled

FSANA Confirms Orlando Venue For Confab

The Flight School Association of North America (FSANA) has confirmed that the 3rd Annual DPE Symposium will be held as originally scheduled on Wednesday and Thursday October 23-24, 2024, at the Rosen Plaza Hotel in Orlando, Florida.

While the organization expresses their sorrow about the destruction caused by Hurricane Milton and pray for everyone’s safety, the hotel and FSANA teams have been in constant contact with each other and have determined that the Orlando region was mostly spared from the damaging effects of the storm and that the area is returning to normal very quickly.

The goal of the symposium is to bring together current and future DPEs along with the FAA and provide an opportunity for them to discuss common issues, concerns, and best practices. The previous two symposia were unique and well-received, and the result was a valuable sharing of information between DPEs from around the country that does not happen in any other setting.

Special discussion topics will include:

  • How to avoid Designee termination
  • Learn about the new FAA Centralized Testing Office
  • Interpreting FAA policy variations in administration and conduct of practical tests

Designated Pilot Examiners (DPEs) play a pivotal role in the pilot supply chain and are responsible for the last stop on the pathway of creating airmen for coming years.

The symposium brings together DPEs, flight schools, government officials, and others to share and exchange information that will lead to improvements in airmen practical testing, and FAA officials will participate.
