One Lost, Two Injured In WA Stinson Voyager Downing

Aircraft Impacts Tree Near Concrete; Engine "Sputter" Reported

Witnesses say they heard the engine of a Stinson 108-1 Voyager 'sputter' shortly before the aircraft crashed Wednesday night, killing the pilot and injuring two passengers.

The Seattle Times reports the accident was reported near Concrete, WA at around 10 pm PDT. KIRO-7 adds local resident Don Mills told the FAA the plane (file photo of type, above) would have landed in his yard, had it not impacted a tree.

The two injured passengers were transported to a hospital in Mount Vernon, and were later airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

Exact circumstances surrounding the accident are not yet known. Names of the pilot and passengers had not been released as of Thursday afternoon.
