Girls Take Flight At Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport

Free Event To Inspire Aviation & Aerospace Careers

The inaugural Girls Take Flight event will be held at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (YTZ) in Toronto, Ontario, on September 21, 2024.

This free event is designed to inspire and excite girls to explore careers in aviation and aerospace, and empower them to know these careers are out there and within the reach of anyone who decides to pursue them. The airport is partnering with PortsToronto, Nieuport Aviation and Stolport to present a unique opportunity to be immersed in the world of flying and other aspects of the aviation world.

Girls Take Flight seeks to encourage young women and underrepresented groups through interactive exhibits, hands-on activities, and inspiring presentations from industry professionals, attendees will get motivation and valuable insights to follow their dreams in aviation and aerospace.

What you will see at Girls Take Flight:

  • Close-up look at aircraft: Learn about their design and functionality in several hangars that will open to the public
  • Inspiring speakers: Female pilots, engineers, and mechanics talk about their journeys and accomplishments

  • Networking: Connect with like-minded peers and industry pros
