Plane Crash Has Ties To Alleged Sandra Bullock Stalker

Mooney Was Being Flown By The Father Of The Obsessed Fan

A Mooney M20 that went down Monday on a Los Angeles city street is owned by a man accused of stalking actress Sandra Bullock.

The plane went down in the Pacoima neighborhood of LA on Monday while attempting to land at Whiteman Airport. While the airplane suffered substantial damage, the pilot was relatively unscathed and walked away.

USA Today reports that the pilot has been identified as Henry Corbett. He is the father of plane owner Joshua James Corbett, who according to the FAA registry owns the Mooney.

Corbett's address is listed as Klamath Falls, OR, and he is accused of stalking actress Sandra Bullock, breaking into and invading her home in Klamath Falls while she was there in the summer of 2014. Bullock reportedly locked herself in a closet in the home and called police.

The plane damaged four parked cars as it came down in the street. Henry Corbett confirmed that his son owns the plane, and that he was on final approach to the airport when a wind gust blew him off course. FAA spokesman Ian Gregor said that the plane had just departed from the airport and was attempting to return and land for an unknown reason.

The plane's owner is currently in jail in Los Angeles awaiting trial on charges of burglary, stalking, and possession of a machine gun, which was found along with a cache of other weapons during a search of his home following the break-in at Bullock's house. He has pleaded not guilty.
