Avfuel Partners With Heritage Aviation FBO On New Fueling Option
Heritage Aviation has partnered with Avfuel Corporation to bring Sustainable Aviation Fuel to the Patrick Leahy Burlington International Airport (KBTV) in Burlington, Vermont, and celebrated the occasion with the city’s mayor and airport director in attendance.
Heritage Aviation is a 100% employee-owned and operated full-service FBO as well as an FAA-certified Part 145 Repair Station. Burlington Mayor Emma Mulvaney-Stanak and Airport Director Nic Longo were hosted at the state-of-the-art LEED Gold Certified facility.

“We are thrilled to partner with Avfuel and to be its first branded FBO location in the Northeast to offer SAF, bringing the next generation of fuel to Patrick Leahy Burlington International Airport.”
Mayor Mulvaney-Stanak and Longo spoke with Heritage’s employee-owners and learned more about SAF and the company’s commitment to sustainable aviation business practices.
The SAF provided by Avfuel is produced by Diamond Green Diesel, a joint venture between a Valero affiliate and an affiliate of Darling Ingredients. It is repurposed from used cooking oil and reduces the lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions by up to 80% compared to conventional jet fuel. SAFs are required to be blended with jet fuel prior to delivery, with typical target blends of 30% SAF and 70% conventional jet fuel.
