Mustangs And Legends: They're Gathering Again

"The Final Round Up"

Stallion 51 Corporation announced last week that The Gathering of Mustangs & Legends: "The Final Roundup" will take place in the summer of 2006. The gathering, planned in cooperation with the Reno Air Racing Foundation, will bring numerous Mustangs, Aces and pilots who flew the Mustang into battle 60 years ago. (Photo by Grady Lisk)

The 1999 Gathering of Mustangs and Legends brought 65 Mustangs and 12 Aces together for a weekend of technical seminars, lectures, and story-telling from both present day owners and the experts who braved combat in these machines. This event drew approximately 40% of the airworthy Mustangs.

It also drew thousands of spectators, media attention, and demands for another gathering. (Photo by Paul Bowan)

Stead Field, Nevada will host the gathering Jun 8th to 11th of 2006. This "Final Round Up" will include a massive 51-plane Mustang formation, solo and formation Mustang demonstrations and USAF Heritage Flights. Other aerial activities and demonstrations will continue throughout the event.

The Aces, Legends, and heroes who flew the Mustang in combat will be on hand for photographs and lectures to share their first hand experiences flying the Mustang. The aircraft will be available for photographs throughout the event. The 2006 Gathering expects to draw 100 Mustangs and 51 Aces and heroes. (Photo by Paul Bowan)

Though it's a year away, preparations are underway. Look for more updates as the men and machines are confirmed. This could be the last time it is possible to see this many Mustangs and Aces in one place.
