Avidyne's Flightmax Entegra Selected For ATG Javelin

Flightmax Entegra Extends From Light Singles To Piston Twins To High-Performance Biz-Jets And Advanced Jet Trainers

Avidyne has disclosed that Aviation Technology Group (ATG) has selected Avidyne's FlightMax Entegra Integrated Flight Deck for the new ATG Javelin aircraft. "We are extremely pleased to include the FlightMax Entegra Integrated Flight Deck in our Javelin aircraft," said Rob Fuschino, Vice President of Operations for ATG and former F-16 test pilot. "The quality and performance of the FlightMax Entegra system is a perfect match for the unique requirements of the Javelin. The aircraft's single-pilot operation is easily managed because of the superbly designed and integrated avionics suite."

FlightMax Entegra comprises two 10.4-inch diagonal displays including a Primary Flight Display (PFD) and a datalink-enabled Multi-Function Display (MFD) in each of the fore and aft cockpits. The PFD provides the pilot with attitude, airspeed, altitude, heading, and vertical speed on a fully-integrated display.

The wide horizon of the attitude indicator extends across the entire PFD display and greatly aids in keeping the pilot continuously aware of the aircraft's attitude. Entegra's MFD displays the route of flight on a moving map with color-contoured terrain, traffic, and datalinked graphical NEXRAD information.

The Entegra system also includes an integrated Flight Management System, VHF communication and navigation, Mode S transponder, and dual redundant approach-certified GPS receivers, with the ability to fly ILS, VOR, and GPS approaches to Category I minimums. The high-reliability flight control system enables precise single-pilot IFR operations, and allows for flight in Reduced Vertical Separation Minima (RVSM) airspace.

"FlightMax Entegra uses a Modular Avionics Chassis (MAC) architecture which incorporates multiple components in one line replaceable unit (LRU)," noted ATG's Vice President of Engineering, George Bullard.

"Avidyne's modular approach enhances reliability while greatly simplifying aircraft maintenance," Bullard said. "In the unlikely event that a customer needs a replacement, the LRU can be removed and replaced with a spare in less than an hour, getting the customer back in the air in minimum time with none of the aggravation that comes with the repair of conventional avionics and instruments."

"We're excited to be a key partner with Aviation Technology Group on the high performance Javelin." said Avidyne vice president of sales and marketing, Mark Sandeen. "This is the first FlightMax Entegra-equipped aircraft to fly at speeds greater than .9 Mach, enabling a wide variety of missions and extending the reach of the Entegra product line from light singles to piston twins, and now into high-performance business jets and advanced jet trainers."
