Indonesian Operators Order Two BAe 146 Jets

One Is In Service, One To Be Delivered In July

BAE Systems Asset Management has placed a two additional BAe 146 regional jetliners with Indonesian operators, indicating the country is a potentially strong market for the aircraft.

The first aircraft, a BAe 146-200 (msn E2204), has been bought by PT Nusantara Air Charter (NAC). The aircraft was delivered in mid-June. This deal follows rapidly, the sale brokered through Asset Management of a BAe 146-200QT (Quiet Trader) freighter to NAC at the beginning of June.

NAC has been operating for a number of years and is owned by local business interests. The company has a licence for both passenger and cargo charters. The Series 200 is configured in a 78 seat layout, with 12 business class seats four-abreast and 66 economy class seats at six-abreast.

The second aircraft is also a BAe 146-200 (msn E2139) in passenger configuration which has been acquired by PT Aviastar Mandiri, a certified air charter operator which flies charters principally on routes in Borneo and Papua. The company operates on behalf of international oil and mining companies as well as Indonesian organizations such as private and state-owned companies and government agencies.

The aircraft, which is configured in a 98 seat, six-abreast layout will be delivered in July.
