United Bringing Boeing 787-8 To AirVenture

Airline Is Launching A New Scholarship Program

United Airlines and EAA are showcasing their expanded partnership in a variety of ways at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2019. Anchored by a United Boeing 787-8 slated for static display on Boeing Plaza on Wednesday, July 24, the airline is also highlighting its proud legacy of supporting women in aviation.

This will be demonstrated throughout United's participation in AirVenture 2019, including announcing a new $5,000 scholarship at the WomenVenture Power Lunch. System Chief Pilot Bebe O'Neil will announce that scholarship, and also join other female industry leaders on the WomenVenture "Celebrating Powerful Pilots" panel at Theater in the Woods that same evening.

United will have a presence at The Gathering, too, with a "Pilot Experience Package" going up for grabs at the evening auction.

"We have always looked for a major airline to partner with EAA and AirVenture Oshkosh, and United has stepped up to the plate in a major way to support a wide range of our programming this year," said Rick Larsen, EAA vice president of communities and member programs who coordinates AirVenture features and attractions. "We look forward to United's presence at this year's event and to a great partnership in the future."

The airplane will be on static display at Wittman Regional Airport, and United will attend the WomenVenture programming as well as facilitate tours of the aircraft while it is on Boeing Plaza.
