Adventure Pilot Enhances iFly EFB

Version 12.1 Adds Helicopter Mode and Checklists

Adventure Pilot announced the release of version 12.1 of iFly EFB. In addition to the full complement of the product’s legacy features, the update introduces Helicopter Mode and Checklists--addenda designed to meet the unique needs of rotary-wing pilots.

McKinny, Texas-based Adventure Pilot LLC is a provider of Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) products designed to enhance pilot productivity and flight safety. The company’s iFly EFB app features navigation, flight planning, aeronautical charts, and weather integration capabilities.

Helicopter Mode comprises a range of tools and resources tailored to rotary-wing aircraft operations—to include helicopter charts, heliport databases, rotary-wing checklists, and weight-and-balance functions.

The helicopter charts indigenous to iFly EFB Version 12.1’s Helicopter Mode provide detailed visual references, obstacle information, and landing site considerations, thereby facilitating precise flight-planning and execution. The app’s heliport databases offer comprehensive information pertaining to rotary-wing-friendly ground-facilities, including communication frequencies and operating hours. Subject features ensure helicopter pilots’ access to vital resources conducive to improved situational awareness and safer flight operations.

In addition to Helicopter Mode, iFly EFB Version 12.1 introduces a Checklists feature by which pilots may create and customize checklists within the iFly EFB software. By integrating with the iFly EFB’s innate functionalities, the new Checklists feature—in addition to ensuring critical cockpit procedures are followed accurately and consistently—allows pilots to access flight-critical information via the checklist interface directly.

Adventure Pilot Chief Operating Officer (COO) Juanita Boyd stated: "I am excited about this release. Our implementation of Checklists is so intuitive and beneficial, every one of our customers will love this feature. With the addition of helicopter charts, heliport databases, and other enhancements such as a helicopter weight-and-balance, we aim to provide helicopter pilots with the tools they need to enhance their situational awareness, optimize flight planning, and improve safety in their operations. At Adventure Pilot, we are committed to continually advancing our software to meet the evolving demands of aviation professionals."

Existing users may upgrade to iFly EFB Version 12.1 through the Adventure Pilot website or by visiting the iOS or Android app stores.
