NBAA Announces Recipients Of 2016 Leadership Conference Scholarships

Individuals Will Be Recognized At Leadership Conference, Feb. 22 To 24

The NBAA has announced that the association’s Business Aviation Management Committee (BAMC) has selected two individuals as recipients of 2016 Leadership Conference Scholarships.

Each scholarship includes a value equivalent to $2,000 to cover expenses associated with attendance at NBAA’s 2016 Leadership Conference, taking place Feb. 22 to 24 in San Antonio, TX. The Leadership Conference is designed for current and future leaders in all facets of the business aviation industry, from aircraft operators to vendors who provide products and services within the industry.

The Leadership Conference Scholarship, now in its 12th year, is sponsored in 2016 by donations from the BAMC members. Representatives from each of these companies will be on hand at the Leadership Conference to recognize this year’s recipients.

The 2016 recipients are:

  • Jason Herman, CAM: Herman, who was named the 300th Certified Aviation Manager (CAM) in 2015, is motivated by the opportunity to learn and grow as a professional pilot, dispatcher and assistant chief pilot. He volunteers on the NBAA Domestic Operations Committee, and has an ATP with more than 2,700 hours, CFI and numerous type ratings. He is a captain at Latitude33 Aviation in Carlsbad, CA. He graduated from Purdue University with a bachelor’s degree in professional flight technology.
  • Matthew Lipka: A volunteer on NBAA’s Domestic Operations Committee, Lipka, is a pilot and dispatcher for Meridian Air Charter and a commercial multi-engine pilot with type rating in Bombardier Challenger 300. Before joining Meridian, he worked as a fuel specialist with Everest Fuel Management. His goals include becoming a leader and advocate of business aviation and showing its importance in the ever-changing global economy. Lipka is a graduate of Daniel Webster College.

NBAA offers several scholarships to promote professional development and business aviation careers.
