Signature Aviation Buys Dulles Jet Center

Signature Adds DC Facility to Network

Signature Aviation has announced an agreement to buy Dulles Jet Center, a corporate hangar facility near Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD).

The deal will give them Dulles Jet Center's full 197,000 square feet of hangar space, along with Class A office space and a luxury passenger lounge. Signature says it 'looks forward to continuing DJC’s commitment to providing high-quality, safe, and secure operations', which is good news for Dulles' former employees. That means that operations will continue, and likely track similar to other Signature Aviation acquisitions: Expansion and promotion, in the best case, allowing Dulles Jet Center employees to leave the small pond of their old company into the sea of Signatures. Signature says the acquisition will improve the experience for all flight operators based at DJC, with more services, and access to their worldwide network of FBO and hangars. The transition is promised to be a pretty streamlined affair for locals at Dulles, with some enhanced site plans, updated branding, and "best practices of both companies" cited as first on the docket for Signature's new employees.

The deal is expected to finish before the end of August, adding the Dulles Jet Center location to the official network of Signature Aviation. All in all, the firm boasts 200 locations across 5 continents, and 27 countries.

“We’re excited to welcome Dulles Jet Center into the Signature Aviation family,” said Tony Lefebvre, CEO of Signature Aviation. “This is a great opportunity to bring together two companies that have operated as neighbors over the years and are committed to delivering exceptional hospitality to our guests and residents.”

“Our goal at Dulles Jet Center was to set an entirely new standard for the construction and operation of corporate hangar facilities,” said Michael Landow and David Landow, the owners of DJC. “We are impressed with Signature’s commitment to delivering exceptional experiences that we have been providing. With their large network and excellent reputation for customer service, Signature is well-positioned to continue and even expand Dulles Jet Center’s operations.”
