Rosen Aviation Releases 4K Smart Map Box

New Product For In-Flight Entertainment With Moving Map

Rosen Aviation, provider of cabin electronics and in-flight entertainment, announced the  launch of an all-new category of products with the release of their all-in-one 4K Smart Map Box. It is a standalone peripheral device that expands SmartTV functionality and adds FlightPath3D 4K Moving Map in a single unit that can pair with any aviation display in any IFE/CMS environment.

Rosen continues to expand its offerings in cabin control, distribution, and passenger interface, and the new 4K Smart Map Box represents an economical and easy to integrate solution for aircraft of all sizes and capacities.

The company has offered moving map solutions for more than 20 years including the LX, VX, and MX products. This latest option is designed for both retrofits and new completions, enabling operators to scale new and existing cabins to incorporate current functions that are increasingly in demand. These include streaming, app hosting, and a robust moving map product like FlightPath3D’s 4K map.

The Smart Map Box will be Google Play Store Certified for access to apps such as Netflix, YouTube, Hulu, and more. It will also be Widevine Level 1 certified for access to Digital Rights Management studios to ensure proper encryption for copyrighted content.

The unit has dual HDMI outputs, USB input, S/PDIF and analog audio outputs as well as Bluetooth audio, Gb wired ethernet and WiFi connectivity. It also features 1 TB of internal storage.
