AAI Gets $15 Million to Support UAVs In Iraq

The UAV Revolution Continues

United Industrial Corporation says its AAI subsidiary has been awarded a $15 million contract for support of the US Army's Tactical Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (TUAV) program.

Under the modification to the company's performance-based logistics contract, AAI's Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Systems unit will maintain TUAV systems that support US warfighters in Operation Iraqi Freedom.

UIC President and Chief Executive Officer Frederick M. Strader said, "World events have highlighted the importance of UAVs in both combat and peacekeeping situations. The military recognizes that UAVs can save soldiers' lives while maximizing surveillance, reconnaissance, and target acquisition capabilities. We are proud to continue support of our nation's warfighters with this system."
