Feds Step Up Hunt For Illegal Aliens Working At The Airport

Looking For Fake Green Cards

The federal government is reportedly stepping up its efforts to find illegal immigrants working at airlines and maintenance facilities at airports around the country. This, after six mechanics used fake immigration documents to obtain their FAA maintenance tickets.

The six are among 28 illegal immigrants caught up in a March 8th sweep at Timco Aviation Services in Greensboro, NC.

We are continuing our investigation," said DOT Agent John Long in an interview with USA Today. "If (workers') documents are fraudulent, we don't know who they are."

But Timco President Gil West said the fake documents were so skillfully produced that he doesn't know what more he could have done to identify the illegal aliens.

"We are going to need additional tools to prevent people like that from getting hired," he told USA Today. West and Timco cooperated with the federal investigation. Neither has been charged.
