Cool City Avionics Announces Management Changes

Jeffrey Kelly Named Chairman, President, And CEO

Cool City Avionics has announced management changes that reflect the progress being made in the certification of its various SAS and Autopilot systems for the helicopter and fixed-wing markets.

Jeffrey Kelly has been named Chairman, President, and CEO of Cool City Avionics. Kelly has been President of Kelly Aerospace since 2002, and will retain that position as well as his new position with Cool City Avionics. Kelly has an MBA from the University of Alabama and has over twenty years of experience in the aviation manufacturing businesses owned by Kelly Aerospace. He has a strong aviation business background and has been involved in some 39 company sales and acquisitions. Kelly is an instrument-rated pilot and flies his own turboprop aircraft.
 
James Irwin, a co-founder of Cool City Avionics, has been promoted to Chief Technical Officer and will direct all engineering and certification programs. Jim is also a member of the Board of Directors. Jim Irwin is a helicopter and fixed-wing CFI with over 10,000 flight hours, and is also a Vietnam veteran. Jim’s decades of autopilot design and certification expertise is recognized throughout the aviation industry. Jim was also a founder of S-Tec Corporation, manufacturers of fixed-wing autopilots.
 
Rick Milburn, a seasoned veteran of the aviation industry, has filled the role of Vice President of Sales and Marketing, and is a member of the Board of Directors. Rick has a long history in the avionics sales industry as well as aircraft sales. He owns Milburn & Associates, Inc., an aircraft brokerage and consulting company. Prior to that, he spent twenty-two years as Vice President/Partner of JA Air Center/JA Aero, Inc., a large Chicago-based sales and service center and aircraft sales dealership.
