AEA Gets Wind Of Possible Hotel Room Scam For Nashville Convention

Reservations Have Been Cancelled At Marriott's Gaylord Opryland Hotel

The AEA has learned of a potential scam regarding AEA members' hotel reservations at Marriott's Gaylord Opryland Hotel in Nashville. ANN received a notice from the organization saying that if you receive a phone call or an email regarding your room reservations for the  2014 AEA Convention, please disregard and delete them.

The email says that "couple of AEA members have reported they have received this "special offer," only to have their existing reservations canceled with the promise of a better rate. The Gaylord Opryland has confirmed it does not honor these offers."

The hotel information provided by AEA is as follows:

  • $195 per night -- AEA group rate.
  • Reduced daily resort fee of $10 for AEA attendees!

Marriott's Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville, TN, will  serve as the headquarters hotel. To guarantee the special AEA room rate of $195  per night, make your reservation directly with the hotel no later than February  8.

Daily round-trip shuttle service from the Nashville International Airport to the hotel is available.
