A model-C Ercoupe, N26R, owned and operated by Jessica Cox of ‘RightFooted International’  and motivational documentary ‘RightFooted’, was almost destroyed in the brief minutes it sat on the ramp at the John F. CG Station Sitka Completes Multi-Leg MedEvac For Downed DHC-3

Survivors of Alaskan DHC-3 Crash Rescued by Quick Reaction, Good Organization

Coast Guard Station Sitka has completed another successful medevac mission, rescuing 2 from a crash Southeast of Yakutat, Alaska. On May 24, the watchstanders of the Coast Guard 17th District picked up on an ELT alert only minutes before receiving calls reporting the crash of a single engine Dehavilland DHC-3. The aircraft contained 4 people aboard, The responding unit launched from the Sitka Station in their MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter, arriving on scene to transport the more seriously injured passengers. While on scene, it was determined that 2 of the passengers had incurred critical back injuries, rendering speedy care a priority.

Airbus and Boeing have announced their orders and deliveries for the first quarter of 2022, and the news is good—in Toulouse, anyway. The European aerospace consortium soundly outperformed Boeing in the first quarter of 2022, racking up 253 new aircraft orders to Boeing’s 167. Airbus’s first-quarter deliveries also outpaced Boeing’s by a margin of 140 to 95. Both companies, however, surpassed their 2021, Q-1 deliveries by 20, and 36 airplanes respectively.

The U.S. Air Force is starving its aging fleet of A-10 Thunderbolt aircraft of critical maintenance and upgrades, thereby surreptitiously circumventing Congressional mandates to preserve the uniquely capable, much-loved warplane—so indicates a recent report by the nonprofit, Project on Government Oversight (POGO). The 26 April 2022 report states the Air Force has essentially hollowed out the A-10 fleet by forgoing critical maintenance, including new wings and upgrades to a central computer system required for deployment.

NTSB Prelim: Piper PA-28-235

...Exited The Left Side Of The Runway, Went Into A Ditch

On April 3, 2022, about 1755 mountain daylight time, a Piper PA-28-235, N9119W sustained substantial damage when it was involved in an accident near Calhan, Colorado. The pilot and two passengers sustained serious injuries. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight. Video surveillance of the accident showed the airplane cross the runway threshold and it remained airborne until past the 1st taxiway and appeared to touchdown near the 2nd taxiway before it bounced.
