CPI Aerostructures has received an amendment to an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract from Bell for the manufacture of engine cowl assemblies and support assemblies for the AH-1Z Viper attack helicopter. The contract amendment extends the period of performance by one year and is valued at $3.8 million. The IDIQ contract, previously announced by CPI Aero in January 2017, now has a potential value of $18.6 million based on the estimated order quantity during the period of performance ending December 31, 2021. CPI Aero has manufactured such assemblies for the AH-1Z Viper since 2011.

Bombardier Challenger 350 Aircraft Near Steep Approach Certification

Would Allow Operation At London City Airport

The Bombardier Challenger 350 aircraft is progressing towards steep approach certification, allowing operators to perform landings under strict conditions, including the steep 5.5-degree approach angle and short runway of London City Airport. The aircraft recently completed its steep approach certification flight test campaign, and also performed several takeoffs and landings at the London City Airport to demonstrate this operational capability. Glideslope Intercept Altitude The minimum altitude to intercept the glideslope/path on a precision approach. The intersection of the published intercept altitude with the glideslope/path, designated on Government charts by the lightning bolt symbol, is the precision FAF; however, when the approach chart shows an alternative lower glideslope intercept altitude, and ATC directs a lower altitude, the resultant lower intercept position is then the FAF.
