...They Are NOT Closing, But Changes Are Definitely Underway
The Eastern Michigan University Aviation Program is putting out the word that they are NOT closing, but changes are definitely underway.
The program is currently in operation and University officials have put out the word that they remain "very excited about the program's future."
Some 30 years old, the Aviation Flight Technology [BS] offers private pilot, commercial pilot, and certified flight instructor certificates, as well as instrument, complex, high-performance and multi-engine ratings. The University, however, is getting ready to transition from operations with the Eagle Flight Centre -- their partner for many years -- and will be annnouncing a new poartnership shortly.
The University notes that, "In the days ahead, we will announce a new partnership arrangement that will bring even greater opportunities to the nearly 200 students currently in our Aviation Flight and Aviation Management programs, and to those who enroll in the future. These new opportunities include providing our students with more options in terms of location, scheduling and aircraft, and there will be no interruption in their education."
Officials claim that their Aviation Program, "has grown tremendously in the past several years and has a great future ahead. We are excited about our future plans for our students and look forward to announcing further details."
In additon to the Aviation Flight Technology track, EMU also offers a Aviation Management Technology degree and Aircraft Dispatch Certification.
