Jet-taxi service Linear Air, has received approval from the FAA to utilize advanced charting and operations technology afforded by the integration of Apple iPads into the company’s flight operations. Linear Air is the first commercial air carrier in the FAA’s Eastern Region to receive such approval.

“Linear Air flies one of the most technologically advanced aircraft, the Eclipse 500, and has consistently demonstrated the ability to harness advanced technology to provide a safer, more efficient air travel experience to the public.  In fact, Linear Air is the authorized training provider to the FAA for flight training in the Eclipse 500,” said Joanna M. Love, Linear Air’s Chief Pilot.

"iPads in the cockpit enable Linear Air to eliminate 50 pounds of paper, allow seamless updating and more efficient handling of operational and customer service issues," added William Herp, Linear Air’s President and CEO. “The safety and comfort of our clients is paramount, and integrating iPads into our operation gives us a real leg up, while saving a few trees in the process."
