ERAU Puts Plans For 2016 Wings & Waves Air Show On Hold

Lack Of External Sponsorships Lead To Cancellation Of The Event

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and show producer David Schultz Air Shows have announced that the 2016 Wings and Waves Air Show scheduled for Oct 8-9, 2016 over Daytona Beach will not take place.

“Unfortunately, a lack of external sponsorships and ongoing logistical concerns prevent the university from hosting Wings and Waves this year,” said Bill Hampton, Senior VP for External Relations and Chief Marketing Officer.  “However, we still encourage our alumni, friends, industry, and prospective students to visit Daytona Beach throughout the year to experience our exciting transformation on the campus and in the community.”

“We support the decision not to move forward with this year’s Wings and Waves and look forward to possible future collaborations,” said David Schultz, President of David Schultz Air Shows.

The university will continue with plans to celebrate its ninety years of leadership in the aerospace industry with on-campus events including the annual industry career expo, alumni homecoming activities and a campus-wide celebration for alumni, students, faculty and staff. Additional details will be announced soon.

Embry-Riddle will consider future iterations of the Wings and Waves show provided that adequate sponsors and partners are on board.
