NGPA Education Fund Scholarship Deadline Approaching

Three Students May Share As Much As $9,000 In Money For College

Representatives with the National Gay Pilots Association (NGPA) tell ANN an Education Fund has been established to provide financial assistance to members of the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender community -- including heterosexual supporters -- who are working towards an aviation career as a professional pilot.

The NGPA Education Fund aims to award up to $9,000 in scholarships to at least three high-caliber students.

Applications for the scholarship are due to be postmarked no later than March 1st 2007. Students currently pursuing careers as professional pilots are encouraged to submit applications.

Some of the criteria established by the NGPA Education Fund for considering scholarship applications include the strength of the applicant’s commitment to supporting and bettering the Gay and Lesbian community, demonstrated academic ability, and financial need.

Details of scholarship eligibility, the scholarship application form and information on making a charitable donation to the NGPA Education Fund is available via the National Gay Pilots Association website.
