Support The Academy Of Model Aeronautics On #GivingTuesday

Encourages Participation To Help Them Reach Their 2016 Fundraising Goal

The Academy of Model Aeronautics is participating in #GivingTuesday on November 29 to help them hit their 2016 fundraising goal of $200,000.

#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration. Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving.

Why should you give? Because model flying is what you love, and AMA loves to help you fly. AMA’s team stands up for members everyday by providing membership services, working with the FAA and in Washington, D.C., engaging youth and building educational programs using model aviation, building partnerships to enhance the hobby, and much more.

Staff members from nine departments will each stand for one hour as they work for your donations. Our goal is to raise $2,500 for the AMA Foundation. That’s approximately $278 per hour. After each team hits its goal, team members can take a seat. If they don’t meet the goal, they will have to stand for the entire hour. Click here to view our #GivingTuesday promotional video.

The AMA says it will be posting live on its social media pages and engaging our members all day. This is your chance to meet the AMA staff and give back.
