Aeroprakt Reaches Production Milestone

Has Registered 1,000 Airplanes

Light Sport aircraft manufacturer Aeroprakt has produced and registered its 1,000th aircraft, a significant milestone for any small manufacturer in this aviation climate.

According to the Foxbat Pilot blog, the 1,000th aircraft is a yellow A22LS, which is now in service at Aeroprakt’s flying club/school based at Naliwaikowka Airfield near Kiev.

The Aeroprakt A-22 Foxbat is a Ukrainian two-seat, high-wing, tricycle gear ultralight aircraft that was designed by Yuri Yakovlev.

Over half of the aircraft produced have been the 450kg (990 pound) gross weight A22, A22L and A22L2 models, followed by the Light Sport A22LS. The recently launched A32 ‘Vixxen’ has already reached 55 production units with yet more on order.

The company makes several light-sport models, as well as an amphibious airplane and a small twin. The company is based in Kiev.

In the U.S., the airplanes cost under $81,000, according to the Aeroprakt USA website. They can be built from a kit or custom-built at the factory in Kiev. Engine options include several Rotax 912 variants, and the airplanes can be equipped with floats or skis.
