Hey! We're Back Online! (Finally!)

03.19.08 1830 EDT: On the list of Famous Last Words and Phrases, this one ranks right up there with "Watch this!" and "I can land in ANY crosswind" on the scale of imminent doom: "We're changing servers tonight, but we expect no major issues."

Such was the case Wednesday, as ANN's web hosting company somehow lost -- well, ANN -- during its overnight transition to a new location. Something about bandwidth demodifiers and SQL truncation defibrilation. Or maybe aliens were involved. Actually, more than once we were reassured of an imminent return to service... but then had that schedule moved off due "to a fastener shortage."

Jim and Birgit explained the reason to me, but I'm not the technical guy around here. (I'm afraid to turn off my computer, for fear the hamster inside will take that opportunity to escape from its wheel.)

In any case, ANN is FINALLY back on the web. Propwash subscribers should soon receive Wednesday's newsletters in their Inboxes; our daily Aero-Cast features will be available tomorrow morning.

Thanks for your patience! -- Rob
