Women In Corporate Aviation Announces Over $60K In 2021 Spring Scholarships

WCA Has Awarded 219 Scholarships Valued At $703,520.00 Over 15 Years

Women in Corporate Aviation (WCA) has announced their spring scholarship program.

WCA has been honored to start 2021 with an inspiring lineup of spring scholarship offerings, supported by a continuously generous industry. WCA including investing in new scholarship software. The software is allowing them to transition from a manual to an automated process providing greater communication and an elevated experience from start to finish for each applicant and sponsor.

"The impact of this program is beyond calculation,” according to Laura Scanlan, President of WCA. We have seen firsthand how these scholarships propel the lives of the recipients and the success of business aviation work force.

Helen Hagg, recipient of the 2020 CAE Citation Initial Type Rating Scholarship, had this to say about the program:

"I am so grateful to WCA and CAE for awarding me the Citation Bravo Type Rating Scholarship. I encourage all members of WCA to seek out and apply for scholarships to expand their horizons. The value of a scholarship is not just monetary, it is a blessing that will last a lifetime. This experience has sharpened my skills as a professional pilot through learning CRM and teamwork with the added benefit of building lasting friendships. This opportunity has helped move my aviation career to the next flight level. Scholarships are an open door to opportunity and the ticket to your future in aviation!"

27 years ago, a group of amazing women started on a mission to support others. They began a grassroots movement to provide scholarships, networking and mentoring to help connect women with opportunities to thrive in corporate aviation. That program took off and has since grown significantly. Over these last 15 years, WCA has awarded 219 scholarships valued at $703,520.00.

“I want to thank all the amazing sponsors and the team at WCA who are willing to give their all to help others” I am pleased to announce the 2021 WCA spring scholarships,” says Jim Huntoon-Scholarship Coordinator.

The following offerings are now available, you only need to be a WCA member to apply:

  • Aircare International – Aircare FACTS Training Scholarship – Value: $5,000
  • DaVinci Inflight Training Institute – The Culinary Experience Elite – Value: $4,200
  • International Business Aviation Council (IBAC) – IS-BAH Workshop Attendance – Value: $1,300
  • International Business Aviation Council (IBAC) – IS-BAO Workshop Attendance- Value: $1,300
  • Member Company – Gulfstream G650 Maintenance Initial, FSI – Value: $35,000
  • Satcom Direct (SD) Connectivity Training Scholarship – For All Aviation Professionals: Maintenance, Pilots, Flight Attendants – Value: $1,800
  • Viasat – Technology/Maintenance Scholarship – Value: $1,000
  • Wolston Sky - Crew Resource Management Course (CRM), Initial (6 Offerings) – Value: $1,500

The Application Window Opens January 28, 2021, and closes April 9, 2021 @ 11:59PM EST. Winners will be announced May 4, 2021.
