Fully Integrated Flight Deck For BizJets, GA Aircraft
An an advanced, next-generation cockpit design has been developed by Innovative Solutions & Support. The NextGen Cockpit/IP II flight deck is optimized for business and general aviation aircraft.
The Cockpit/IP II includes significant innovations in aircraft systems design to improve overall operations, direct operating costs, technology, comfort and performance. The system supports dual flight management systems, electronic- charts, satellite weather, synthetic vision, integrated TAWS and enhanced vision (FLIR) and has been developed from the experience gained on commercial air transport and OEM programs.
“The Cockpit/IP II flight deck is one of the most advanced cockpits available on any aircraft," said Innovative Solutions and Support’s President Shahram Askarpour. "The microprocessors in the IS&S displays control all major aircraft systems including Electronic Flight Bag applications, Radios, Transponders and Radars. FMS precision navigation and Synthetic Vision give pilot’s unrivaled performance. The Cockpit/IP II has a 60 percent larger display area and more display pixels than latest generation aircraft and is fully compliant with NextGen requirements for RNP and ADS-B.”
The Integrated Flight Management System features include:
- Coupled WAAS/LPV Approaches
- Full RNP compliance to DO-236B with better than 0.1 nm precision
- Required Time of Arrival (4D trajectory to each waypoint)
- Dual Flight Management System with Synthetic DME capability
- Dual IS&S Beta 3 GPS Receivers compliant with ADS-B out requirements
- Accuracy < 3m <1m differential
- ADAHRS
- Dual remote radio controls
- Remote Audio Control and Management
The system also includes an integrated electronic flight bag. Video data is presented on the LCD multifunction display.
The IS&S developed Integrated Multifunction Standby Unit (IMSU) is also incorporated in the Cockpit/IP II platform. The IMSU provides pilots with an unmatched performance in stability and accuracy of attitude, heading and air data parameters.
