Deliveries Expected To Begin Soon
The Mooney Airplane Company has announced the certification of
the Garmin G1000 avionics suite featured in the GX versions of its
popular Ovation and Bravo high performance single engine aircraft.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) awarded a Supplemental
Type Certificate (STC) to Garmin on November 16, 2004 and Mooney
incorporated the approval into its Type Certificate.
"The Mooney Bravo and Ovation GX models will be the first high
performance single engine aircraft to enter service with the G1000
avionics suite. The receipt of this certification marks another
important milestone in our ongoing commitment to build aircraft
that reflect exceptional craftsmanship and state of the art
performance," said Mooney's Vice President of Sales and Marketing
David Copeland.
"The G1000 avionics suite integrates an impressive array of
functions that will enhance safety by easing the pilot's workload.
The displays are easy to read, even in bright sunlight, and the
presentation is similar to that of a business jet," he added.
