Tutor.com Partners With Careers In Aviation For Scholarship

Also Joins With Larkins' DreamLaunch Tour

Aviation is on the minds of more Americans than ever before, thanks to the heroic landing of a commercial jetliner in the Hudson River last month. What people may not know is that 25% of all aviation employees are eligible to retire this year... and there may not be enough young graduates to fill these positions.

Online homework help and tutoring service Tutor.com recently partnered with Careers in Aviation and Jamail Larkins' nationwide DreamLaunch Tour, to help educate students about these career opportunities. To help students realize their aviation dreams, Tutor.com is offering every student 50 minutes of free online math and science tutoring, and is giving away one $1,000 scholarship to a qualified middle or high school student.

At age 14, Larkins followed his dream and became one of the youngest American pilots to fly solo in Canada. Ten years and countless flights later, Larkins travels the country on the DreamLaunch Tour, sponsored by Embry-Riddle, to share his love of flying and shows students how to overcome obstacles in order to achieve their own dreams.

"Even at the age of 12 I knew I wanted to fly and be a part of the aviation industry, but I knew first I had to succeed in school, get a higher education, and then apply the lessons I learned in school to my business and career," said Larkins (shown below). "I hope this scholarship from Tutor.com encourages young people to consider aviation as a career and help provide them with the valuable education they need to get there."

Tutor.com has a network of over 2,000 certified tutors available 24/7 to help students with homework, exam preparation, study skills and much more. The math tutors and science tutors offer help with everything from basic math to advanced calculus, physics and more. Over 4 million students have used Tutor.com for their educational needs.
