Sporty Updated Pilot Training Course Now Available On Apple PC’s
Sporty’s latest edition of their Pilot Training software is now available for Apple Computer users, and natively accessible on Macbooks, iMac, or Mac Pro.
Sporty’s also stated that the training program is also available in offline mode so that learners can interact with the content regardless of whether they have an active internet connection.
According to Mr. Bret Koebbe, Senior VP of Sporty’s “the test prep components are automatically saved for offline use when downloading the appl and pilots can then download videos from individuals courses to the Mac’s hard drive for offline playback.” Sporty’s also provides a free FAA handbook library, with search, bookmarking, and annotation capabilities.
Some ten years ago, Sportys’ began providing a few online courses, and in the years since has grown its presence to provide an ‘almost one stop shopping experience’ where students/pilots can purchase mobile device applications and accessories, GPS’s, radios, kneeboards, charts, a selection of aircraft supplies, apparel, as well as safety and survival gear.
Sporty’s was founded in 1961 by Hal Shevers, then a young flight instructor, in Batavia Ohio. It’s Headquarters and flight training facility are located at Clermont County/Sportys airport (I69). They encourage fly-ins/drive-ins, suggest things to do including touring the on-site Tri-State Warbird Museum and checking out their weekly cookout.
