Columbia Helicopters, Honeywell International Expand Their Partnership

Company Now Performs Maintenance On Additional Helicopter Engines

Columbia Helicopters has been named as an authorized maintenance repair facility for the Honeywell T55-L-712 and T55-L-11D engines for customers in specific countries. Under terms of the agreement, Columbia Helicopters will support Honeywell T55-L-712 and T55-L-11D engines used by operators located in Greece, Morocco, Thailand, and Argentina. Columbia is authorized by Honeywell to conduct maintenance at the organizational, intermediate, and depot levels.

“We are pleased to reach this agreement with Honeywell,” said Mike Fahey, president of Columbia Helicopters. “We have worked with Honeywell for many years, and we have always appreciated their support and assistance. This agreement will simply strengthen our relationship.”

Columbia Helicopters’ Model 234 Chinook helicopters operate the Honeywell AL5512 engines, and the company has conducted authorized external maintenance for other Honeywell customers in the past.

“This continued partnership, with its new expanded role is based on Honeywell’s long-term commitment to Columbia Helicopters,” said Brian Sill, vice president of the Defense Americas Aftermarket. “The quality and reliability of service Columbia Helicopters provides will allow operators to plan maintenance more effectively and as a result, minimize aircraft downtime.”
