Aero Friedrichsofen Expo Eases COVID Rules

German General Aviation Trade Show Locality Rescinds Pandemic Restrictions

The upcoming Aero Friedrichshafen Aero show has announced that its locale, the German state of Baden-Württemberg, has rescinded its COVID-19 restrictions.

The change means that the general aviation exhibition no longer has a list of extra requirements for entry and passage in order to run trade fairs, exhibitions, or public events. Those attending are no longer required to use face masks, demonstrate a negative test prior to entering the exhibition premises, or maintain a minimum distance from persons not in their party.

The staff at Aero Friedrichshafen stress that "Rather than demanding rigorous hygiene and safety measures, the new regulations make each individual responsible for avoiding placing themselves or others at risk," and given the international nature of the exhibition, they feel it's best that attendees don't let their guard down. "While the mandatory use of face masks is omitted," they said in the notice to prospective showgoers, "we as the organizer suggest wearing masks to prevent an infection. However, it is incumbent upon any individual to do so."

The expo will run from April 27-30, giving industry personnel more than 50 conferences, lectures, product presentations and safety seminars for anyone invested in general aviation. This year, organizers have have hinted at a few themes, from the preservation of European airports to the burgeoning market for commercial drone aircraft throughout the industry.
