AIRT To Use Grant To Help Expand Its DroneResponders Program

Will Use The Grant To Support Research Initiatives

The Motorola Solutions Foundation, the charitable arm of Motorola Solutions, has awarded the Airborne International Response Team (AIRT) a grant that it will use to expand its DroneResponders program, which focuses on supporting the awareness and education of UAS use by public safety agencies and first responders across the globe.

“We are very honored to have been selected as one of the Motorola Solutions Foundation 2019 grant awardees,” says Christopher Todd, executive director of AIRT.

“This funding will help DroneResponders make an even greater impact in supporting first responders using drones for good in their local communities and beyond.”

AIRT will use the grant to support the research initiatives of DroneResponders surrounding the use of UAS by first responders. The Miami-based non-profit organization will also use the grant to provide educational programming and outreach to public safety and disaster response professionals in underserved communities that want to use UAS to not only help save lives, but also protect property.

“We are very pleased to support the work of AIRT and the DroneResponders program,” says Monica Mueller, executive director of the Motorola Solutions Foundation.

“We believe in organizations that foster innovation and drive change, and we’re proud to be a part of the positive impact they are making in the community.”
