Brings More Than 26 Years Of Industry Experience To The Position
Duncan Aviation is pleased to announce that Michael Kussatz (pictured) has accepted the position as Duncan Aviation’s new Regional Avionics Sales Manager, and he’ll be supporting avionics install sales for our East Coast Satellite Avionics Shop network.
“Michael is well respected in our industry, and he brings years of outstanding customer service and product expertise to our team,” says Manager of Completions & Modifications Service Sales Nate Klenke. “Adding Michael to our team adds great value for our clients and the services we provide.”
Having grown up in aviation, Kussatz has more than 26 years of experience working in the industry. After receiving his Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation Technology from Central Missouri State University, he worked at Duncan Aviation in sales and then as a project manager. Kussatz also received his MBA from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University before furthering his career with Garmin International.
“I’m thoroughly excited to join the Duncan Aviation family again because working here, you are truly a part of a big, extended family. My father started here in 1967, so I was fortunate to grow up around the first generation of men and women who put Duncan Aviation on the right track,” says Kussatz. “I struggle to work in an office and gravitate to the hangars to work with the professionals who keep the aircraft flying. I feel at home with aircraft owners and operators because, as an aircraft owner, I know how hard it can be to keep up with the needs of an airplane. I’m thankful for the opportunity to work in this field and be close to the professionals who drive this industry.”
Kussatz learned to fly at 16, and he swept floors at Duncan Aviation when he was 18 in order to be around the airplanes he’s so passionate about. He also has his commercial pilot’s license and spends much of his free time providing flight instruction. One of his students is his 18-year-old son Caden.
“It was super hard to watch Caden just fly away for his solo, but he did a great job!” says Kussatz.
Kussatz also enjoys mountain biking and spending time with his daughter, Nikayla (20), who enjoys flying with her dad to visit her grandmother.
